Supplies:

• Kraftykid Mama Kangaroo and Baby Joey template
• Scissors
• Glue
• Brown construction paper, small brown pompom, or brown marker
• Googley eyes

Instructions:

1.   Print the Kraftykid Mama Kangaroo and Baby Joey template and cut out the pieces.

2.   Glue the pouch onto the kangaroo.

3.  Glue baby joey onto the Mama kangaroo’s pouch.

4.   Glue ears.

5.  Add nose and wiggly eyes.

Instructions:

1.   Print the Kraftykid Give a Pig a Pancake template and cut out the pieces (bookmark, pig, pancakes.)

2.   Have the children glue the pig and pancakes onto the bookmark.

3.   Write their name, if desired.

Instructions:

1.   Print the Kraftykid groundhog shadow puppet template.

2.   Cut out the groundhogs.

3.   Glue both groundhogs onto craft sticks.  You now have a groundhog puppet and its shadow.

4.   If desired, you can also trace the groundhog onto black construction paper.

Supplies:

Instructions:

1. Print the Kraftykid Winnie the Pooh Bookmark template and cut out the pieces (face, ears, red strip, nose, honey pot).
2. Glue in place using the picture as a sample.
3. Allow to dry and have each child write their names on their bookmark.

Supplies:

• 2 paper fasteners
• Glue
• Two red feathers, if desired

Instructions:

1.   Print theKraftykid Angry Bird Moveable Puppet template and cut out the pieces (body, beak, eyes, eyebrows, tan circle, and legs.)

2.   Glue the pieces to look like the Angry Bird, (3 tail feathers, eyes, eyebrows at a slant, tan circle, and beak).

3.   Fasten the legs at the bottom of the bird’s body using the paper fasteners.

4.   Add red feathers at the crown of the head, if desired.

5.   Have the children move the bird’s legs side to side.

Supplies:

• Kraftykid standing animal template
• Scissors
• White paper or construction paper

Instructions:

1.   Print the  Kraftykid standing animal template.

2.   Have children cut out the animals.

3.   Draw a landscape.

4.   Glue the animals onto the picture.

Note:  You can also use the narrow strips of paper to make them stand up by gluing them together and then gluing the animals in the front.  Or as pencil toppers or napkin rings.

Hang them around the room for a classroom decoration.

Supplies:

• Kraftykid photo reindeer hanging ornament template
• Photo of the child
• Scissors
• Glue
• Ribbon

Instructions:

1.   Print the Kraftykid photo reindeer hanging ornament template and cut out 2 reindeer per ornament.

2.   Cut a six inch ribbon.

3.   Glue 2 reindeer together so that the picture is facing outward on both sides.

4.   Fold the ribbon in half and glue in between the 2 reindeer so that you can hang the ornament by the ribbon.

5.   Glue a picture of the child on one side. On the other side have the child write their name and date.

6.   Hang them around the room as decoration.

Here is a free, eagle mask craft printable that you can make.  It’s a great choice to celebrate patriotic holidays.  Fringing the paper to look like feathers makes it a more challenging craft and lets kids practice their cutting skills with scissors.

This eagle mask craft is also a good Native American craft used for multi-cultural studies. In the Native American culture the eagle represents freedom and courage, and is considered the protector, carrier of prayers, visions & spirits.

Supplies:

• Kraftykid eagle-mask-craft template
• Feathers
• Scissor
• Glue
• Black Construction Paper
• Hole Puncher
• Label or Masking Tape
• 12 inch Elastic Cord

Instructions:

1. Print the Kraftykid eagle-mask-craft template and cut out all of the pieces.
2. Cut out the eye holes.
3. From the bottom edge, cut a slit along the fold, then another slit angled in from the fold to make a beak.
4. Open out. Overlap the bottom edges A and B and staple, making the beak stand out from the face.
5. Fringe the three black rectangles with scissors for a feathery look.
6. Attach the strips to the bottom of the face with staples, tape, or glue.  Attach the bottom row first, then overlap other rows.  Trim edges to be even with the sides of the mask.
7. Cut the yellow square for the beak.  Fold and cut a curved piece from one edge.  Staple or tape the yellow beak to the white “under-beak,” placing curved sides down.
8. Draw two black circles on the beak.
9. Fringe the two white rectangles with scissors to give a feathery look and attach to the face above the eyes for eye ridges.
10. Wrap a self adhesive label around the outside and punch holes for ties and attach 12 inch pieces of elastic cord.

Supplies:

• Kraftykid pretty piggie face template
• 2 pink paper plates
• Yarn
• Glue
• Scissors
• Stapler

Instructions:

1. Print the Kraftykid pretty piggie face template.
2. Cut out template pieces and glue onto the front of the paper plate
3. Cut pieces of yarn and glue ends inside of the paper plate along the top edge.
4. Move long edges of the hair outside of paper plate.
5. Cut a small slit in the back of one of the paper plates (so coins can be inserted).
6. Place second paper plate on top of first paper plate with raised edges together.
7. Staple in place.
8. Decorate the front of the paper plate to make a pretty pig using glitter, feathers, ect.
9. Use as a bank by inserting coins in the back.

These easy to make puppets from paper bags can be used to introduce the fowl family to your preschoolers:  goose, hen, and rooster.  Let the children color them in and then apply to a paper bag so they can practice their animal sounds.

And because, they have created such perfect works of art, allow them to attach a 4H first place winner on their puppets’ necks.

Instructions:

1. Print the Kraftykid puppet templates.
2. Have children color the puppets.
3. Cut out the puppet pieces (bottom and top).
4. Glue the upper portion of the puppet’s face on the flap of the bag.
5. Glue the bottom portion of the puppet’s mouth (bill) just below the flap.
6. Give your puppet an award and cut and color the 4H first place award.  Glue onto the puppet with some ribbon.
7. Add feathers, if desired.
8. To make the puppet perform, slide your hand inside the bag.  Bend four fingers to fit in the folded flap.  By moving your fingers slightly, the puppet’s mouth moves and the puppet looks like it’s speaking.
